4 days ago, thanks to Yahoo Movies! we were given two posters and a new trailer for Angelina Jolie’s new epic drama UNBROKEN. The film opens on December 25th, 2014 and is based on the novel of the same name by Laura Hillenbrand which tells the incredible true story of former Olympian & WWII hero Louis Zamperini.
The upcoming epic drama starring Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson, Miyavi, Garrett Hedlund & Finn Wittrock will not only act as an inspiring tale but will launch a social movement as well. Universal Pictures has launched the #IAmUnbroken project inspired by Louis Zamperini’s indomitable spirit.
“The #IAmUnbroken social movement works to spread inspiring stories of triumph over adversity, reminding us to live every day to the fullest and to never doubt the resilience of the human soul.”
You are invited to share your own #IAmUnbroken stories, or that of a loved one, at www.IAmUnbroken.com By uploading videos, photos, and social media posts with hashtag #IAmUnbroken, a few select stories will be chosen to have a professional team create a video segment. Selected stories may also be featured on NBC’s Today, and those who submit have the opportunity to receive an invitation to the film’s world premiere.
Nothing brings me more pleasure than seeing the two things I am most passionate about joining forces. The entertainment industry gives us new stories every day, but this social movement Universal Pictures has launched has shown they don’t just want to tell/sell stories, they want to create change. By supporting positive story telling and encouraging people to share their own stories of triumph we will be creating inspiration all around us, not just on the big screen but in our own every day lives.
UNBROKEN may have an extremely talented cast, but those behind the camera are that of my movie dream team. Jolie is not only producing the film but she is at the helm as well. The screenplay started off being written by Richard LaGravenese and William Nicholson but was then rewritten by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen. I am pretty much signed on for anything involving both Jolie and the Coen brothers. The trailer is beautiful, intense, heart-wrenching and moving, and that is just a two-minute and 41 second clip. This film is definitely on my most anticipated list. Jack O’Connell was clearly tested not only physically but emotionally during this film, he told Yahoo Movies!:
“Contrary to the title, it broke me on several occasions,” he tells Yahoo Movies with a laugh. “But that’s the point, isn’t it? It had to break me. Otherwise I was just out there pretending.”
If you have not checked out the trailer for UNBROKEN yet, make sure and check it out here and let us know what you think.
