Marvel Reveals A New Poster & Teaser Trailer For The Highly Anticipated AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Today Marvel revealed a new poster and a teaser trailer for its upcoming film AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. In the sequel to the 2012 hit AVENGERS, the biggest and best superhero movie of all time, all of our favorite characters are back along with some new faces as well. In this highly anticipated sequel Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, tries to jumpstart a suspended peacekeeping program, things start to go wrong and the future of the planet isn’t looking so great. Our beloved team of superheroes including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test to try to stop the wicked Ultron from following through with his terrifying plan of human extinction. Making suspicious allies, the team must work together with hopes that these newcomers are on their side to help take this villain down and not there to cause even more trouble.

Robert Downey Jr., will return as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, the entire team must reassemble with the help of the most esteemed S.H.I.E.L.D. members, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill. James Spader takes on Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. The team will also meet two mystifying and powerful strangers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (also known as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

The film is written and directed by the almighty Joss Whedon, is produced by Kevin Fiege, whom I like to call the “God of comic book movies”, and is based on the extremely popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers” first published in 1963. If we have learned anything from the team up of Marvel, Fiege and Whedon we can expect an epic film full of adventure with a dash of comedy and sarcasm that makes these characters and films hard not to fall in love with. As far as sequels go, it is few and far between that a sequel hits Theatres and is as good or better than the first, but when it comes to Marvel they have set the standard for fantastic sequels. For instance I liked CAPTAIN AMERICA but I loved CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and I also enjoyed all three of the IRON MAN films. Even though comic book readers hated the twist in IRON MAN 3 it was fun and exciting to watch. It is sometimes difficult if you love the source material so much to see it changed in such a big way in a film adaptation, but you have to remember that when they are making these films they want to reach a larger audience and bring new fans to the comic book genre all while paying respect to the loyal comic book fans and I think Marvel has done a great job balancing the two.

Every comic book nerd in the world is impressed by the lineup of Marvel movies in the upcoming years and the anticipation is almost painful, but what’s great about this franchise is the amount of new fans it has brought to the Comic Book genre. The world has always known who Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and even the Hulk is but now the entire world has opened their eyes and fallen in love with comic book superheroes who have long deserved the recognition.

The new poster is intriguing to me and I like it much better than the last image (shown below), that was released a few months back, which reminded me a bit too much of the final poster for the SONS OF ANARCHY TV show on FX.

The trailer shows us mass destruction and our mighty superheros are looking rather defeated and lost while Ultron is looking strong and powerful. It shows us intense action that will take us on a global adventure to find out if THE AVENGERS have what it takes to build each other up and work together as a team to save humanity or if they will implode as the intensity rises. Check out this stunning action packed teaser trailer that has my nerd alert ringing off the charts and let us know what you think of this new teaser trailer! Don’t forget AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theatres everywhere on May 1, 2015!
