Relativity Studios has just released the OFFICIAL TRAILER for the upcoming horror movie, THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2: ANGEL OF DEATH. A follow-up to the 2012 hit film THE WOMAN IN BLACK starring Daniel Radcliffe, which was based on the novel of the same name by Susan Hill, took in $54,333,290 domestically so a sequel seemed fitting. The original horror flick was directed by James Watkins with the script penned by Jane Goldman and told the story of a young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) who is struggling with his work after the death of his wife. He travels to an isolated village to settle the estate if a diseased woman who owned an old English manor. The villagers are not happy that he is there and even try sending him away all while withholding a deadly secret. But Kipps decides to stay in the Eel Marsh House where he finds the unforgiving ghost of a scorned woman, dressed in all black, who is terrorizing the locals by taking their children.
The sequel THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2: ANGEL OF DEATH, also from a story by Susan Hill, takes place in the same house 40 years later when a group of children who are evacuated from London during World War II come to stay and awaken the house’s darkest inhabitants. The film is directed by Tom Harper with a script penned by Jon Croker and stars Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCrory. THE WOMAN IN BLACK 2: ANGEL OF DEATH is set to hit Theatres January 2, 2015.
