Yesterday Touchstone Pictures and Lucasfilm released the first trailer for their new animated film STRANGE MAGIC. The fairy tale musical is inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and will include popular songs from the past six decades to help tell the tale of a colorful cast of characters. The story follows goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. The fanciful forest is turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects with Gary Rydstrom (“Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation,” “Lifted”) at the helm, from a story by George Lucas, “Strange Magic” will be released by Touchstone Pictures on Jan. 23, 2015.
With animation so good it almost looks like a cross between stop motion and live action. The music had me dancing in my seat and the characters all look adorable and fun. From the looks of the first trailer this will be a hit with the kids and the adults it reminded me of all the old and wonderful Jim Henson movies that we grew up with. With beautiful colors and amazing characters I have to believe the story will be just as good! Make sure and check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
