If you love Monkey’s as much as I do than you will be extremely excited for Disneynature’s new film MONKEY KINGDOM. The story may be about Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey but there are more than just monkey’s in the jungles of South Asia. Set among ancient ruins we will meet a wide variety of adorable characters like a mischievous mongoose, simple-minded langur monkeys, predatory leopards and monitor lizards. Directed by Mark Linfield (“Chimpanzee,” “Earth”) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Chimpanzee,” “Bears”) the film has music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Shrek” movies.) We will be taken on an adventure with new mom, Maya, who is determined to give her son a “leg up on the world.”
Check out these adorable new pictures, the trailer and I dare you not to fall in love with Monkey Kingdom. Don’t forget for every ticket sold opening week (April 17-23, 2015), Disneynature will make a donation to Conservation International to help protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats. This marks the sixth theatrical release for Disneynature, which was launched in April 2008, the first new Disney-branded film label from The Walt Disney Studios in more than 60 years.
