I love seeing OBVIOUS CHILD on the list, if you haven’t checked it out you should. The film stars Jenny Slate and is a hilarious comedy about a twenty-something comedian and her unplanned pregnancy, it is provocative, real and refreshing. As a huge fan of Oscar Isaac it is also wonderful to see A MOST VIOLENT YEAR. UNBROKEN is setting up to be riveting and could land nominations for both best director and best actor for breakout star Jack O’Connell. The biggest shocker on this list to me is best director, as a huge fan of Clint Eastwood, AMERICAN SNIPER was a phenomenal film but it didn’t stand out as much as say INTERSTELLAR, WHIPLASH, or BOYHOOD. It is certainly setting this years Oscar race up to be a good one.
