Roadside Attractions has acquired the U.S. rights to feature debut TOUCHED WITH FIRE. Formerly titled MANIA DAYS, the film was both a critic and fan favorite at this years SXSW Film Festival. Huffington Post recently said the film “boasts Katie Holmes’ best performance in years.” TOUCHED WITH FIRE follows two bipolar poets who meet in a psychiatric hospital and fall in love, their romance brings out the best and worst of their condition. The film stars Katie Holmes (BATMAN BEGINS, DAWSON’S CREEK) and Luke Kirby (TAKE THIS WALTZ) who are joined by Griffin Dunne, Christine Lahti and Bruce Altman.
Paul Dalio wrote, directed, edited and scored the film and drew inspiration from his own journey with bipolar disorder. The film is produced by Jeremy Alter and Kristina Nikolova Dalio, who also served as the film’s co-cinematographer. Spike Lee came on the project as an Executive Producer after working with Dalio as his professor at NYU Film School.
