Strap In: The HARDCORE HENRY Trailer Is Here

Video game movies have a certain stigma: namely, that there has essentially never been a truly good one. HARDCORE HENRY evades that issue by taking an entirely different approach: instead of using a video game story, it uses the camera system from games like BIOSHOCK and CALL OF DUTY – which is to say, the entire film seems to be shot from the point of view of the protagonist, using a wide-angle lens. Take a look:

In a world where many action movies are starting to look and sound the same (as Deadpool pointed out in his recent movie, TAKEN has so many sequels you eventually start wondering if Liam Neeson is just a bad parent), the artistic decision to shoot a movie from first person point of view makes HARDCORE HENRY stand out from the crowd. Whether the story – Henry is a biologically and technologically enhanced amnesiac fighting to get his scientist wife (Haley Bennett) back from the warlord (Danila Kozlovsky) that has kidnapped her and wants Henry’s technology in order to bio-engineer soldiers – will prove to be unique is another question entirely. All we know so far is, provided you’re not prone to motion sickness, HARDCORE HENRY will be a ton of fun to watch.

Are you looking forward to HARDCORE HENRY? What’s your favorite action movie – or, since it’s applicable, action video game? Let us know in the comments!
